How to Stop Using Affirmations the Wrong Way

I’ve had great success with affirmations, and here’s my tutorial

In my POV, affirmations are stories you tell yourself to see the world in a specific way.

Your brain relies on affirmations to assign meaning to an otherwise neutral world.

Your brain relies on affirmations to filter neutral information coming to your senses.

This is how you naturally use affirmations. In real life, you say,

  • I am happy because…
  • I am sad because…
  • I am hurt because… (NOTE THE BECAUSE)

“I am statements” are justifications for being or not being a certain way.

Your affirmations are essentially a narrated proof of your experience.

And the reason why most people say affirmations don’t work is that they try to go against this normal nature of affirmations.

If you are saying you are rich but experiencing a lack of money, your brain classifies that as a wish.

If you affirm that you are happy, but you are experiencing deep anxiety and depression — your brain classifies that as a wish.

Without evidence, there is no way affirmation…
