Oscar couldn’t ignore the putrid stench that emanated from their shared toilet.

Meanwhile, the waste pipe in his apartment had blocked

He asked his neighbor about the repugnant smell and the blockage. The neighbor dismissed it as “guts”.

Oscar saw that the water in the toilet bowl was blood red.

Oscar alerted the police. They responded to the apartment of the neighbor, affectionately known as Uncle Joachim by the local children.

They were met with four-year-old Marion’s little hand simmering in a pot on the stove.

Some carrots and potatoes had been neatly cut and added to the pot.

Joachim’s justification was, “Meat is expensive.”
