It was late in the day.
The police received a call from a concerned neighbor. Smoke was emanating from a third-floor apartment.
When the police tried to open the apartment door, it was blocked.
They soon made a shocking discovery. The dead bodies of two twin baby girls blocked the door.

Tori Margaret Ball and Lily Teri Ball were twin sisters born on September 12th, 2007, in San Diego, California, USA.
The twins’ parents were Michael William Ball and Monica McCarrick.
But Michael and Monica didn’t have the best relationship because Monica was a drug addict.
Monica was often in and out of jail for possession of drugs and for domestic violence.
So Michael and Monica separated in 2009.
