Lilia Tarawa was six when she elatedly showed her grandfather her report card. She had not only scored perfect grades but also received excellent comments from her teacher.

Her teacher wrote, “Lilia demonstrates leadership skills, which could be useful when she’s older.”

She had achieved something really important for the first time in her life.

Her grandfather gathered everyone up. In Lilia’s little mind, he was going to tell them how proud he was of his granddaughter. But.

“We don’t want women like you,” Grandpa stated.

Lilia’s heart dropped immediately.

She could feel the heat covering her face as it turned red. She couldn’t breathe. She felt the air being sucked from her lungs.

Lilia grew up on a beautiful island
